Firefighters in Edinburgh were called to assist at a road traffic collision which left one car in the basement of an Edinburgh tenement and four people needing hospital treatment.
The incident happened at 10pm on Wednesday evening (26 December) at the junction of Chester Street with Drumview Gardens. A car being driven by a 21 year old female collided with a taxi carrying two female passengers aged 40 and 11 years old.
The car crashed into the basement of a tenement building after an accident. Firefighters assisted the 21-year-old woman from the car and the driver of the taxi, aged 60 and his two passengers until ambulance crews arrived.
All four involved in the incident were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for a precautionary check-up.
Firefighters left the scene just before 11pm.
Well that is wrong, I took the 21 year old from her car to our apartment which was across the road. This is where the paramedics and police questioned us and the people around us.
Hi Nick. This report was based on the incident log at that time.
Nick, I am the girl from the accident. I would like to profoundly thank you and your companions for all of your help on boxing day night. Unfortunately at the time I was in quite a state that I hadn’t the frame of mind to thank you all for your help. Since, I have been told that you returned to Australia after asking of you in order to give you my many thanks and send something. I havent any memory of the actual accident, which is frustrating, but your help and kindness was a blessing at a time when I felt distresssd. Thank you.
Also a big thank you to Lothian and Borders emergency services. Keep up the brilliant work.
Thanks Tazmin, glad to hear all well now. Sounded like a terrible ordeal.
Thanks Tazmin
